    A supply fee of $40 is payable to the instructor on the first day of the course. A supplies list will be sent upon registration. A marking fee of $55.00 is payable to Olds College, at the time assignments are submitted for evaluation.
    A $50.00 deposit will hold your place until one month prior to the course starting date, at which time full payment is due.

General Meeting

General Meetings take place at the Studio on the third Tuesday of each month at 7pm, except for June, July, August and December. Guests are welcome.

  • February 19, 2008 - Our February meeting will feature “Hints, Ideas and Help” with RoseMarie Fennell. Rose Marie has been weaving for over 30 years and brings a wealth of knowledge to our guild. She has been a member of HWS for the past 12 years serving as Vice-president, President, Past-President, as well as on Sales. She is also active in the Handweavers, Spinners and Dyers of Alberta, and, prior to coming to Calgary, was active in the fibre arts community in Regina. RoseMarie is a weaver, spinner and knitter, and also dabbles in dyeing.

    This is the group of fibre artists (London Guild of Needlework) including Miriam Birkenthal, Donna Clement, Leann Clifford, Gloria Daly, Wendy Klotz, Ingrid Lincoln, Linda MacKay, Vickie Newington, ReBecca Paterson, Joan Saunders and Lesley Turner.

    This exhibit continues until April 4, 2007.

  • HWSG GENERAL MEETING

    Saturday January 20th - 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

    Guest Speaker: Bonnie Datta

    Bonnie will be giving a presentation on Crackle Weave, a Swedish weave structure (Jamtlandsvav) that uses both a tabby and a decorative pattern weft (four shafts) to produce block designs of interesting texture and colour shadings. This lecture is an introduction to "Crackle Weave", a workshop that Bonnie will be giving at the studio in February/March and April.

    Further information and registration details about "Crackle Weaver Workshop" will be announced at this meeting.
