Using instructor supplied materials, students will experience the freedom that comes from weaving without boundaries. You will learn how to design and wind a freestyle warp and warp your own loom. Students will then create a fabric using diverse fibres, incorporating novelty materials, ribbons, silks, chenille and cotton and wool.
You will use techniques such as clasped weave, overtwist and inclusions. You will, if you want, weave enough fabric to create a shawl, poncho, or other simple garment.
Level of experience needed: Basic weaving – ability to warp chosen loom (rigid heddle, table loom floor loom)
